[About]

In 1997, Malcolm Gladwell introduced his work, “The Coolhunt,” delving into the exploration of discovering emerging fashion trends at street level.

According to Gladwell, the coolhunter assumes a pivotal social role in disseminating trends. They were the pioneers in recognizing that social status deviated from Madison Avenue's narrative in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, departing from conventional markers like education and wealth. Instead, coolhunters placed emphasis on personal influence, honing their expertise by assimilating extensive information on style, culture, and behavior, deciphering it ahead of the curve.

As Dieter Rams advocates for "less, but better", we, as curators, are inspired to discern signals from noise. This platform marks the initial stride in curating enduring, influential cultural phenomena within the art, culture, architecture, and design realm.

The era of the engineer has ended; the era of the curator has begun. My sincere thanks to my friend Wladislaw for opening the door to Gladwell's work for me.
